Plus, they’re perfect for infusing with your decarbed herb or cannabis-infused oil (cannaoil or cannabutter). Whether you’re using an FDA non-stick coating canister or your favorite infusion device, this recipe will transform your infused product into a salty-sweet masterpiece.

Why Decarboxylation Matters


Before you start, make sure your cannabis is properly decarboxylated. Decarboxylation (decarb) is the process of activating THC (or CBD) so your edibles deliver their effects. Use a decarboxylator or your oven for even heating and smell control. If you’re unsure how much infused oil or butter to add, refer to the dosage chart below and adjust based on your tolerance.


Ingredients


  • 2 tbsp vegan butter

  • 1/3 cup maple syrup

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/4 tsp sea salt (plus more for topping)

  • 1/3 cup tahini

  • 1/4–1/3 cup cannabis-infused oil (cannaoil) or cannabutter

  • 1/2 cup melted vegan chocolate (for coating)

  • Optional: Toasted sesame seeds for garnish


Instructions


1. Prepare Your Workspace Line a small loaf pan with parchment paper and set aside. This will make removing the chilled caramels a breeze.

2. Melt the Base In a medium non-stick saucepan (silicon lid optional for smell control), melt the vegan butter over low heat. Add the maple syrup, vanilla extract, and sea salt. Stir until the mixture is smooth and begins to bubble slightly.

3. Add Tahini and Infused Oil Remove the pan from heat and stir in the tahini. Once combined, add your cannabis-infused oil or butter. Mix thoroughly to ensure even distribution of cannabinoids.

4. Chill the Caramel Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly with a spatula. Place in the freezer for 1–2 hours, or until fully set and sliceable.

5. Slice and Coat in Chocolate Remove the firm caramel from the freezer and cut into bite-sized squares. Dip or drizzle the squares with melted vegan chocolate, then sprinkle with sea salt and sesame seeds for an elegant finish.


6. Store and Serve Store caramels in the freezer or refrigerator until ready to enjoy. These treats melt easily at room temperature, so keep them chilled.
